Thermal Imaging Camera Workshop
Date Monday 28th February 2011 Time 1900 - 2100
Venue Upper Room, Kelsick Centre, Ambleside.
This event is limited to 8 people – so please book soon.
Cost FREE but please donate £5 to cover venue costs
Hands -on workshop for members of sustainability groups - come and see what thermal imaging has to offer!

Cumbria Sustainability Network conference
Saturday 12th March

  • On Saturday 12th March there will be a Cumbria Sustainability Network conference and workshop on Sustainable Local Economies, hosted by Sustainable Brampton and held at Brampton Community Centre between 10am and 4pm.

    The interactive workshop will be facilitated by a trainer from the new economics foundation
    And will explore local economic issues from a community self help perspective, giving an introduction to tools and approaches available through nef, such as the Enterprising Communities Framework and Plugging the Leaks
    Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Community Waste Initiatives - A Meeting of Minds

We would like to invite you to a meeting being held at the University of Cumbria to discuss community waste initiatives and resource availability. Riversmeet and the University of Cumbria intend to undertake a waste audit of commercial and industrial businesses in Cumbria to identify waste streams which can be utilised by Community Groups whose aim is to reduce waste and promote sustainability.

FREE COURSE

Apple Grafting course, March 27 10 am to 5 pm

WithRod Everett, at Middle Wood Roeburndale West

During the course we will graft well over 100 trees to give you a repeated experience and develop your confidence. These trees will eventually contribute to the Lancashire Apple Project. This involved propagating rare and traditional apple varieties trees from around Lancashire.

We will also look at the wide selection of fruit trees around the farm and see different grafting techniques.

This course is supported by Lancashire County Council.

Please bring warm and waterproof clothes and sturdy footwear. Bring your own lunch
